A Notary Public is an official of integrity appointed by the Secretary of State to serve the public as an impartial witness in performing a variety of official fraud deterrent acts related to the signing of important documents. These official acts are called notarization, or notarial acts. 

General Notary Work simply means having an official of the state notarize documents that are not related to real estate transactions. This includes everything from powers of attorney, trust documents, healthcare relates documents, auto title transfers and other commonly notarized items listed below.
